About the Council
The Textiles & Hosiery Council at MCCI works towards the holistic development of textiles industry in Eastern India. The objective of the Council is to work along with various stakeholders, representing wide variety of sub-sectors of textiles industry. MCCI has been proactively involved with Government regarding various issues related to GST and Foreign Trade Policy for the sector.
MCCI has been at the lead of facilitating knowledge sharing in various segments of textiles and apparels industry. The Council has been at the frontline of Policy advocacy for the sector and has provided detailed inputs for the National Textiles Policy. MCCI has worked closely with the Government of West Bengal on the formulation and implementation of the State’s Textiles Policy.
